- Rear-axle steering turns the rear tires up to 3 degrees out of phase with the fronts at speeds below 50 mph to help the Cayenne rotate through turns and with the fronts up to 1.5 degrees above 50 mph to provide highway stability.
- Did you wonder why the key in every Porsche is in the left? Back in the day, drivers at Le Man did not start inside their racecars. The had to sprint across the width of the track and take off. Porsche figured out a way to speed up this process. They relocated the ignition key to the left of the steering wheel. That meant that a driver could start the key with one hand as they put it into gear with the other. To this day, the key in every Porsche remains to the left.

Active bonnet is designed to reduce head injury to pedestrians in a frontal impact. In the event of such an impact and when travelling above 20 km/h, sensors in the car’s front bumper send a signal to a control unit which in turn activates two gas propelled actuators. These actuators fire against a small plate attached to the bonnet on each side which instantly lifts the rear of the bonnet by 120mm.
Porsche Hill Control is an assistance system, which helps the driver when driving slowly downhill at speeds between approx. 3 km/h (2 mph) and approx. 30 km/h (20 mph), e.g. on steep slopes or on wintry mountain roads, both forwards and in reverse. The braking action of Porsche Hill Control is impaired on slippery surfaces (e.g. on icy roads or loose surfaces).
The Porsche Communication Management features a high-resolution touch display with integrated proximity sensor which allows simple and convenient operation. The mobile phone preparation makes it easy for you to establish a Bluetooth® connection to a mobile phone that supports the hands-free profile (HFP). The cell phone can remain in your pocket or bag.
