Mercedes-Benz E 220 d 4MATIC
The Mercedes E-Class majors on superb refinement and technological innovation in the large executive car class. Eye-catching grille and badge aside, the E-Class saloon is very restrained in style. AMG Line has much sportier look, thanks to 19-inch AMG alloy wheels and a body styling kit. The theme continues inside, with a three-spoke steering wheel, sports pedals and a black roof lining.
Mercedes-Benz E 220 d 4MATIC Description
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class models have been awarded test licenses for autonomous driving in the US state of Nevada. This is a world first, perfectly timed to coincide with the Consumer Electronics Show, or ‘CES’, held in Las Vegas.
Mercedes-Benz engineers spent just over two-and-a-half years refining the new E-class seats. It took that long to figure out how to make them wider, longer, more adjustable, better cushioned, and also lighter.
In the new E-Class, interstate driving isn’t something the driver has to do anymore. That’s right, this car will keep a speed, slow down if the car in front does, stay in its lane up to 130 mph, and change lanes automatically with nothing more than a touch of the turn signal. This is astounding technology.

DYNAMIC SELECT offers a choice of four distinct driving modes — Comfort, Sport, ECO, and Individual — so you can adjust the A-Class Saloon’s driving characteristics at the touch of a button. Choose Sport mode and the system automatically alters the parameters for the engine, steering, transmission, and chassis to deliver a more agile and responsive drive. In contrast, Comfort mode offers a smoother, more relaxed driving experience. In ECO mode, it’s all about maximising efficiency and minimising fuel consumption— even the seat heating and air conditioning work with reduced output to save energy. Or you can opt for Individual mode, which lets you tailor the various handling and performance parameters to create a bespoke driving style.
Active bonnet is designed to reduce head injury to pedestrians in a frontal impact. In the event of such an impact and when travelling above 20 km/h, sensors in the car’s front bumper send a signal to a control unit which in turn activates two gas propelled actuators. These actuators fire against a small plate attached to the bonnet on each side which instantly lifts the rear of the bonnet by 120mm.
